Foreman/Site Supervisor

R.F. Almas Company is a sewer, watermain and road contractor, generally working in the Haldimand/Norfolk/Brant area. We are a family run business established in 1955. We are currently seeking an experienced sewer and watermain foreman/site supervisor to lead crews on municipal infrastructure and private development servicing projects.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate site activities to ensure work is executed in a safe and efficient manner
• Completion of daily work logs, time sheets, job site health and safety documentation/tasks and verify packing slips etc.
• Interpret utility locates and ensure safe digging practices are carried out
• Plan ahead and coordinate with management to ensure equipment, labour, subcontractor and material needs are scheduled to the site when required for efficient cost effective completion of the work
• Coordinate work with clients and consultants

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience as a foreman in sewer, watermain and road construction
• Ability to understand blue prints, specifications and schedules
• Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety requirements
• Self motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Must be able to collaborate with Superintendent/Project Managers as to equipment needs, job procedures, job scope changes or any issues that may arise on the jobsite
• Strength in identifying needs and deficiencies in looking ahead at the plan/schedule and communicating these to the appropriate persons
• Must have valid drivers license with clean abstract

 

Rate of Pay: $45.00-$51.00/hour based on experience

• raise manholes
• topsoil and sod
• and many other fun jobs
• a valid G driver’s licence is required

 

The position is seasonal (April to December) with potential for future career growth.

 

Heavy Equipment Operator

Dozer, Loader and Excavator

• Experience in Sewer/water installations and road construction an asset
• Must be able to work safely around existing utilities
• Must possess a good reliable work ethic and attitude
• Must work well as a team as well as independently as needed
• Minimum Class G Drivers Licence with clean abstract

 

Wage is based on skills and experience.
